These really help my mom with macular degeneration.

I use these over my regular glasses when I do my coloring. They magnify just right with no problem. The only thing is the “arms” on them are made very cheap and break after awhile. I tape them when I first open the package but they eventually break somewhere else. I’ve been through three pairs of these glasses. They really need to be made better. The lens part is great but the arms suck! I would give five stars if the arms were better and I really should take off another star because they are so not!

I bought 2 pairs, I like them, they work well & help me see things I couldn’t see before without holding a magnifying glass, however the temples of the glasses have broken off several times. This last time, broken off completely so its very hard to use them, as they won’t stay on very well, however I can’t seem to find anything out there that I like as well, so I will buy another pair to replace those – they are cheaply made but they are cheap to purchase also, so for under $10, they are worth it

I loved them right off the bat, but noticed that even tho I keep them in the protective bag when not wearing them, they still ended up w/ tiny scratches all over the lense part. A friend also got a pair, & she was also very careful with hers, treating them w/ kid gloves. The arm broke off hers fairly soon. I’m concerned mine will break now since I know she was so very careful with hers. As far as seeing thru them, they are GREAT! I have issues seeing both near & far. These glasses help me see the maps on the TV during the weather reports (been long time since I’ve been able to do that), as well as read prescription bottles & the teeniest tiny fine print on stuff. I could even see good enough to tackle a splinter or something if I had to now. Just hope the scratches don’t get worse or the arm break off mine too. Great idea, works as advertised, but materials could be better quality so they last longer. My friend & I both had headaches if we used these too long, but not a deal breaker since it’s easy enough to avoid that. I’d assume that it’s not good for eyes to use this much magnification too much without breaks anyway, but I’ve not been told that & I’m not an optomatrist. Very nice for sewing & art work.

About me. I am 60, and i wear the 100 + cheapo reading glasses you can buy from China. But when I buy something, like a cool Flac player, or get a new modem, the things that seem to come with micro-instructions, or I need to read a computer mac address/serial number the readers are not enough, and I have a pair of hobbyist type headset things that strap around your head, which have about 5 difference lenses. They work, but a bit big and cumbersome for what I prefer. And not very comfortable.

These glasses for me do the same with with more comfort and style. They are not a “high magnification” type of glasses, but for reading the fine print, they are great. I would say they are around a 3 or 4 compared to base 100+. The focal length is about a foot meaning u can’t be too close or too far away from what you want to see. I keep them on my computer desk at all times, and am thinking of picking up another pair for travel.

There are some low reviews here about using as reading glasses. I don’t think they are for that. Reading glasses are for that. These for me are for the occasional uses I mentioned, although I have used them to read a bit.

I bought these for my 90 year old mom. She loves them. She has macular degeneration and these help alot for her to be able to read prescription labels. Regular magnifying glasses didn’t work as well for her. Some things she sees better with these on over her glasses and others better without her glasses. My husband with just worsening vision said they didn’t really help him much beyond his own glasses. Amazon has a great return policy. These are worth trying to see if they will work for what you need.
