I was looking for large curlers for a quick and easy way to fix my hair. I Have curly, frizzy and wavy hair. I heat these curlers up for 10 minutes, throw them in for 10 minutes or so, and my hair looks great when I take them out. I have smoother hair and a slight or large curl from below my ears down. My hair is couple inches below my shoulders. My hair doesn’t hold curl extremely well but you can still tell it was curled and fixed at the end of the day. I’m glad I bought these and would definitely recommend them. I do not get creases like other people mentioned in the comments and the rollers get hot enough that if you leave them on 10 minutes they’re tough to touch. They do not heat up as hot as I would like them in two minutes though, but are great at about 7 to 10 minutes. Keep in mind when you are buying these that larger rollers do not put in a real tight curl, but the curl is definitely visible and very nice. Curls are equivalent to using a large barreled curling iron but only takes 3 minutes instead of 25

go back and re-read the instructions. I saw the word “red” and kept waiting for the red light to go out when hot. NO… it is the red dot on one of the largest rollers. I was thinking of returning them, thinking that if the red light didn’t go out then they weren’t getting hot as fast as they claimed. After reading the instruction again and watching the red dot on the roller, guess what! they really do heat up fast and the dot turns white just like the instructions say it will. OK, they are fine and I like the curl they give… it is just what I wanted! I did order the plastic clips because my hair isn’t long enough to hold the metal clips. It helps to bend the clips tighter together if you want to use them but I think the plastic clips will old better for me.

These are by far, THE BEST ROLLERS WHICH COME WITH METAL PINS!!! I still have the original set of these Conair heated rollers that I purchased 8-10 years ago, and have used them daily, 365 days per year, and they are going strong. Only reason I purchased a new set, is because the velvet had started to rub off of the rollers from constant use, which were burning my hair and too hot to hold. I’ve tried other brands of hot rollers, but the plastic clips DO NOT hold in my thick, but baby-fine hair. Only the metal pins work for me. I plan to purchase another set of these because sometimes I use the larger Jumbo rollers for a smoother look, and sometimes I like to use all one size. LOVE THESE! I wish the manufacturers would go back to the metal pins, as the plastic clips are horrible, and make ugly crimps in your hair.

I purchased the standard version of the Conair super jumbo hot rollers to replace the Amazon exclusive version with a bonus super clips that I had purchased five years ago.

    • color of the 1 3/4″ rollers – standard=blue – bonus version=purple
    • the metal heating plates in the standard version are smooth (on top), the bonus version the plates are flat in some areas.
    • standard version comes with 12 wire U clips, bonus version comes with the purple plastic clips

I prefer the plastic clips because they hold the rollers better. I’ve used these hot rollers for over 8 years and never experienced any issues. I CONSTANTLY get complimented on how beautiful my hair is. These hot rollers are the best.

The Conair jumbo size rollers work for shoulder length to very long hair. I typically have a layered cut which I think looks best when I use these hot rollers.

Does great job in adding volume – that’s what I wanted it for. Comfortable Rollers and Good Price. No crimp marks either. The only negative is that the clips are flimsy and don’t hold well. However, for the 2 rollers you use right at the crown, I’ve found that inserting the clips from front to back, they hold better. For other parts of the head, I’ve found that inserting the clips with the curved part first (toward the scalp), they hold better . . . it’s the complete opposite way because we would ordinarily insert the flat part of the clip first (under the roller). But, try reversing and you may also find they hold better. I’ll add some photos to illustrate as soon as I have time.

LOVE THESE! I have long thick hair & they work perfectly. I don’t set them for long (15 mins max) so I get more volume than curl. The photo is after 10+ hours of wear.
