1 review for Veet Infini’Silk Light-Based IPL Hair Removal System For Home Use

I bought this Veet Hair Removal System in the 50K flashes (note some reviews are for the 5K, not the 50K model) and have just used it for one treatment so it’s really early to give a proper review. The reason I’m writing this already is because I read a number of 1 star reviews that stated their’s arrived not working (mostly in the other model from my reading) so I wanted to note that mine arrived in good working order and share some information….

I’ve done laser hair removal in salons and can tell you a small area of the body typically takes 6 treatments and are done every 6 weeks (to hit the follicles at different stages of growth). Hormonal areas like around the chin and underarms can take 10 treatments so over a year of treatments is not uncommon.

Just to note that the folks who review that they haven’t had success after a month or two, haven’t necessarily given it the time needed before giving up. Although this product recommends treatments every couple of weeks, I’d still give it 6 to 10 treatments before expecting to see a big difference.

I read a review that stated it couldn’t be used over the toes or other small areas and wanted to note that it worked for me. I had to put my hand or foot on the counter or down flat and then hit the light over it sideways (rather than individually on each finger). It took a couple tries but it works. Don’t judge me; I’m middle eastern, lol.

This product is made in Israel and seems well made. I read another review regarding the cord not be long enough. I wanted to note that it is long enough for me to use it comfortably with room to spare. I use at at my bathroom counter and, for reference, I’m 5’2″. If you’re 6’+ tall, you might prefer a cordless version.

After one treatment on areas I’d previously treated (but not completed 10 sessions), I can see a difference. I’ll probably be using this for nearly a year on new areas before I see a difference but thought I’d note that. Usually after a few treatments in a salon you’ll notice growth becoming slower and more sporadic. It’s a long process but, for me, it’s worth it.

For reference, I’m Southeast Asian and usually wear foundation in the medium beige realm. My skin has an olive undertone but it is on the lighter side compared to other family members of my nationality.

I’ve not had any kiddos of my own yet so I might not bear pain as well as some other women… Laser hair removal in salons is super painful for me, especially under the arms. I used over the counter lidocaine (I think 2.5% or 5%?), wrapped with saran wrap, 45 minutes prior to treatment, for numbing the skin, and it really helps. They say it feels like a hot rubber band snapping the skin…

To me, this Veet version feels like a rubber band very lightly snapping against the skin, on level 5— not at all painful though. The real deal, in a salon, the rubber band reference hardly cuts it for comparison, lol, again, just my opinion.

In any case, I’ll be updating this review down the road with how it compares to the salon work. In salons I’d pay minimum $99 (on a Groupon) for 6 treatments of one small area. This Veet is not painful, skips the pretreatment work, the drive, and it will pay for itself in no time. I’m pretty happy with it and would recommend it already but will see how it does on non-treated areas after more time passes.

Uploading some photos so you can get a closer look at the warning information and how it looks upon arrival. Smile. Hope this is helpful!
